5 October 2020
Dear Kurnai families,
We hope that you have all had an enjoyable break being able to enjoy the relaxed restrictions and improved weather.
Remote learning continues this week and has us looking forward to seeing each and every student from Year 7 to 12 back on-site on Monday 12 October as per their normal timetable.
Our highest priority on return to school will be to support our students in whatever way we can. Additional Welfare support is being put in place and students are encouraged to engage with them if they are feeling overwhelmed or stressed in any way.
In line with the Victorian Government and the Department of Education’s COVID-19 action plan, Kurnai College is working hard to ensure that we all continue to stay safe.
Some key points that will affect the way we return to on-site schooling include:
Face mask that covers the nose and mouth must be worn by all students and visitors to the school (Face shields, scarves and bandannas are no longer able to be worn),
Maintain regular hand hygiene.
Limited access to school grounds for parents and carers. Call the school to make suitable arrangements.
If you are unwell remain home, even with the mildest of symptoms.
Students to bring their own laptop, school equipment and drink bottle.Students should practise physical distancing where possible.
(Full Covid-19 information is available on the Department of Education’s website.)
With the return to on-site learning, it is critical to also remind students that College ICT and Mobile Device policy remains in place.
Before closing, we have a couple of key dates for you to note:
AFL Public holiday (school closure) – 23 October
Staff Professional Practice Day (Student Free Day) – 2 November
If you have any concerns, please contact the school.
Yours sincerely,
Anthony Rodaughan
College Principal
