Hi everyone, my name is Claire Laing and I’ve been chosen as School Captain 2024 @ Kurnai College Churchill. I have been at Kurnai College since 2021. It was difficult at first because we were still suffering from COVID-19 and facing lockdowns and the dreaded masks in class, it made learning very difficult but at the conclusion of the pandemic there was not one person who wasn’t happy to be back to normal. Throughout my years at Kurnai, I have been fortunate enough to be a part of many experiences such as: the School for Student Leadership, Blue EDGE, community involvement, early exposure to VCE, school camps, being a Student Representative and more. I am very excited to be working beside my other captains Arabella and Harry to help the school community, face new challenges and represent Kurnai. I hope to raise more awareness for Mental Health and allow every student to feel they can be themselves and voice their opinions. I can’t wait to see what this year has in store.
