Are you interested in embarking on a 3 week life-enhancing school expedition to Borneo, Indonesia, one of the world’s most stunning natural gardens – a unique ecosystem of vibrant jungle and unexplored tropical wilderness, teeming with exotic wildlife?
This opportunity is open to all current year 9, 10, & 11 students to attend in December 2020.
The expedition involves:
5 Days in a Community Camp working on a project (build class rooms, constructing and refurbishing community buildings, installing water systems) and in the evenings experiencing the local culture through dance and language lessons
6 Day Adventure Activity – A Jungle Trek to experience the sights and sounds of the Jungle, sleep in a hammock beneath a jungle canopy, learn essential jungle first aid and survival techniques whilst mastering fascinating traditional skills.
5 Day Environmental Camp – Learn more about the Borneo Jungle, and engaging in project work that includes reforestation and learning more about the challenges facing the unique habitat. You will also Visit the world-renowned Sepilok Orangutan Sanctuary where you’ll see orphaned and injured Orangutans before they are released back into the wild.
2 Days at Kota Kinabalu, the Capital of Malaysia’s Sabah state for any last minute souvenir shopping, sightseeing, and the opportunity to zip wire between the two islands
